Boss preparation and BREAK windows

Boss fights in Aniimo reward teams that plan the BREAK window before the first hit. Assign opening, conversion and recovery jobs, then measure the fight by window quality rather than raw damage.

Assign the three jobs

Someone builds BREAK pressure, someone converts the punish window into damage, and someone keeps the attempt alive when a dodge is missed. Hybrids may cover two jobs, but name the priority.

  • Opening: fastest reliable route to the BREAK state, not highest damage.
  • Conversion: burst loaded and ready the moment the window opens.
  • Recovery: sustain or control that turns a mistake into lost time, not a wipe.

Learn the window before spending it

Use the first attempt to observe: how the boss telegraphs, how long the punish window lasts, and what interrupts it. Spending burst on an unmeasured window wastes the fight’s scarcest resource.

  • Attempt one: time the window and note what shortens it.
  • Attempt two: rehearse the conversion rotation at half commitment.
  • Attempt three: commit fully and record the result with build and date.

Judge the team by the window

Time-to-first-BREAK, damage inside the window, and stability between windows are the three numbers that matter. A team that BREAKs faster but survives worse is a trade, not an upgrade.

  • Change one slot at a time between attempts.
  • Prefer predictable openings over occasional spikes for scheduled bosses.
  • If the window keeps arriving late, fix the opener before blaming the burst.
